Young Blast Victims to Be
Laid to Rest Together
HOPKINTON, Mass. -- Two young Hopkinton sisters described as
inseparable in life will be laid to rest in the same casket today.
4-year-old Iris and 5-year-old Violet Carey were killed last week
in a house explosion believed to have been caused by natural gas.
A funeral Mass were held this morning at St. Mary's Church in
Hopkinton.
Relatives say because the girls were so close, their parents
decided to bury them in the same casket.
Meanwhile, investigators from the state fire marshal's office are
still trying to determine what caused the deadly explosion in the
early morning hours last Wednesday that tore the roof and upper floor
off the multi-family home on Main Street. (AP)
